A Loving Legacy

SHERIDAN SENIOR CENTER ENDOWMENT FUND FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW

What does an Endowment Do?  Why is it Important?

With an increasing number of people getting older, organizations that serve elders must think about how they are going to meet their needs. Creating an Endowment is a strategy an organization can take to become more financially independent and less reliant on the uncertainties associated with federal and state funds.

Endowment dollars are vital because they generate income, a portion of which is available year after year to support important programs such as daily on-site Senior Meals in several locations, Home Delivered Meals, In-Home Services, Day Break - Adult Day Services and Transportation.  The rest of the money is wisely invested to build the fund.

Rewards of Charitable Giving
  • Your gift will make a positive difference in the life of another.
  • Affiliation with an organization you believe in and that is well known and respected.
  • Your gift will continue to generate income in perpetuity.
  • Deciding for yourself how your charitable money will be used and deriving tax advantages in the process.
  • Investing in your community and future.
  • Recognition - all donors will be recognized in the Senior Center newsletter (unless you choose to remain anonymous) and will be invited to an annual donor appreciation gathering.  Donations of $5,000 and over will receive permanent name recognition at the Senior Center.
  • You can establish a Memorial in honor and remembrance of a loved one.

“I made an Endowment to the Sheridan Senior Center’s Day Break Program in memory of my sister Esther.  She looked forward each and every day to the activities provided by the one of a kind, dedicated personnel who works there.  Esther’s days at Day Break were among the happiest as she liked to be around people.  It is my hope that the Endowment gift I made will provide income for Day Break activities for years to come.”   - Frank Rauzi

“Giving to an endowment is a very personal expression of support. It says that you believe in what the organization stands for and what it does; it says that you want the organization to be here for those who will need its services well beyond today.”  - Lynn Mavrakis

“We are extremely fortunate in this community to have all the programs our Senior Center offers.  The kind and caring staff make you feel special — my mother loves being there!  By supporting this Endowment Fund, we can be assured that services for our families will be available for all of the todays and tomorrows to come.”  - Stella Montano
