Time Contributions
The Senior Center’s many volunteers act as a daily lifeline and
constant connecting link between our patrons and the Sheridan community. At present time,
approximately 450 volunteers give of their time and talents, thus strengthening
the Center’s daily work.
Whether you can spare an hour a week or several hours a day to help us in our
work, we would love to talk to you. Many volunteers come to us via our
daily “Home Delivered Meals” program, delivering 10-15 meals to a set route of
fellow citizens who need the extra help. Some help daily, some just a few
times a year. Others assist with special programs and events, and yet
others participate by assisting in the dining room or acting as ambassadors
within our facility.
Here are other ways to lend a helping hand:
- Be a
“Senior Companion” and offer friendship and support to isolated older
adults.
- Participate
in the “SheridanAires”, the Center’s own community choir.
- Assist
in the Center’s “Day Break” area – one-on-one or in a group setting.
- Create
interior décor for the dining room - or make other crafts.
- Share
your entertainment skills and perform in our dining room.
- Help
with bulk mailings, answer phone calls, or update the Center’s scrapbook.
