A Visit to CHAPS (not the kind cowboys wear) Equine Assisted Therapy Center. An exciting place! Visit the facility east of Sheridan, learn about their program, and meet the horses. 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This is a one mile “walk” on Brinton Important Bird Area. Transportation will be carpooling or your own transportation from the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m. Difficulty level is easy to moderate.

Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water. Binoculars and camera are optional. Wear weather appropriate clothing and good walking shoes for all of the hikes.


Buffalo Run Creek Trail

Monday, May 10, 2017.
1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Buffalo Run Creek Trail with Steve Stresky, Sheridan’s own Appalachian Trail champion, will lead the hike. The trail is located 9 miles east of Sheridan on US Hwy 14 in the Prairie Dog Creek area on WY State Trust Land. Meet at the Senior Center to carpool to the site at 12:45 p.m. The difficulty level is easy to moderate.

Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water. Binoculars and camera are optional. Wear weather appropriate clothing and good walking shoes for all of the hikes.

Sheridan Recreation District Sponsored Deadwood Day Trips

Trips to Deadwood begin April 20th. Schedules are available at the Senior Center or the Sheridan Rec. Dept. The Rec. Dept. is located at 1579 Thorne Rider Park. For reservations on a trip to Deadwood, call the Sheridan Rec. Dept. directly at 674-6421.
